Please be reminded of January's MIS Officer's Meeting being held on Wednesday January 27, 2010 at the Technology Innovation Centre Conference Room, University of Technology, 237 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6.
As we begin the last six (months) of the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement which will expire the June 30, 2010, we encourage you to be present and on time as we discuss ways forward for the distributions of all software assurance benefits and accessing upgrades for products received or purchased.
Online Symantec Security Appliance Demo
Symantec on behalf of MC3 Jamaica, authorized Microsoft & Symantec software distributors will be hosting an online demo of the Symantec Web Gateway 8450 Appliance.
PUBLIC SECTOR TRANSFORMATION BULLETIN # 1
As you are all aware, Jamaica is at a stage in its development where we must make radical changes in the way we conduct business in serving the public, if the citizens of this country are to enjoy a better quality of life. There is a need for the Public Sector to increase accountability, improve service delivery, use public resources more effectively and be more responsive to the needs of the people we serve. A transformed Public Sector must align responsibility with authority, and hold managers accountable.

The Public Sector Transformation Unit and the Central Information Technology Office are seeking to ascertain the profile of Web Presence, Internet and Email Management within the Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

SQL 2005 for Administrators Workshop
As apart of our ongoing training, CITO in partnership with Microsoft via the Premier Support Agreement will be providing SQL 2005 for Administrators Workshop to the GOJ MIS Officers, scheduled for December 7-9, 2009.

November MIS Officers Meeting
November's MIS Officer's Meeting will be held at the Technology Innovation Centre Conference Room, University of Technology, 237 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6.
We will be continuing our training seminars with our fourth instalment in collaboration with InfoTech Caribbean. This meeting‘s topic is Risk Compliance and Remediation. This will be a technical and executive presentation.
Additionally, we will be issuing certificates for our Microsoft Exchange Migration Workshop that was held in October.

As apart of our ongoing training, CITO in partnership with Microsoft via the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement will be providing an Exchange 2003 to 2007 SP1 Migration Workshop to the GOJ MIS Officers, scheduled for October 13-15, 2009.
Venue: Microsoft Jamaica Inc., Pan Caribbean Building, 10th Floor, 60 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 10
The goal of this workshop is to learn all the steps that need to be considered when an Exchange 2003 environment is about to be migrated to Exchange 2007 SP1.
September MIS Officers Meeting
September's MIS Officer's Meeting will be held at the Technology Innovation Centre Conference Room, University of Technology, 237 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6.
We will be continuing our training seminars with our third installment in collaboration with InfoTech. This meeting's topics are Data Protection (Data Loss Prevention and Encryption) and Understanding Microsoft's Virtualization Solutions. This will be a technical and executive presentation.
Additionally, we will be discussing how to use the software assurance benefits.
