As a part of our ongoing training, CITO in partnership with Microsoft via the Premier Support Agreement will be providing The Microsoft Project Server 2007 Enterprise Project Management (EPM) workshop to the GOJ MIS Officers, scheduled for April 27-29, 2010.

Venue: Microsoft Jamaica Inc., Pan Caribbean Building, 10th Floor, 60 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 10

The Microsoft Project Server 2007 Enterprise Project Management (EPM) workshop provides attendees with the key skills required to use and manage Project Server 2007. The workshop is a 3 day hands-on workshop intended for IT Professionals as well as Project Managers.

The workshop takes the attendee through an in-depth discussion with multiple hands-on lab exercises with topics ranging from working in Project Web Access(PWA) through monitoring and managing the queuing service.
Some of the key features associated with this workshop include:

• Leveraging the appropriate Enterprise tools in Project Server to provide relevant business intelligence and analysis to Executives, Stakeholders and associated Project members.
• Gain a practical understanding of managing the Enterprise Global as an integral part of the EPM solution.
• Standardization of Task, Resource and Project information across the Enterprise for easier management of Projects and Resources.
• Understand the workflow associated with a successful implementation of the Timesheets and Task Update cycle

Key Focus Areas
Planning & Requirements
Identify the technologies involved as well as requirements planning to successfully mange and scale an EPM Solution.
Managing the Enterprise Global
Understand the importance of building great Enterprise codes and managing views through the Enterprise Global.
Queue monitoring and management
Learn techniques on managing and monitoring the queue as well as do’s and don’ts to maintaining a healthy queue.

Target Audience

The Microsoft Project Server 2007 EPM workshop is targeted toward Project Managers and IT Professionals involved in using, managing and maintaining Project Server 2007 in their organization.

The following are the recommended pre-requisites:
• Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Project. (2000 – 2007)
• Some experience working with PWA (Project Web Access 2003 or 2007) (Preferred but not required)
• Some familiarity with the MMC console for SQL Server 2005 and IIS 6.0 (Preferred but not required)
• Some understanding of Project Management Methodology. (PMI, Prince, etc.)

Hardware Requirements will be provided.

Duration: 3 days (8:30-17:00)
To ensure the high-quality knowledge transfer expected by the attendees of this 3 -day’s workshop, class size is limited to a maximum of 12 officers.

Early departure on any day is not accepted.

Officers should anticipate consistent start and end times for each day. Persons who are not able to attend all three (3) full days need NOT apply.

NOTE: This course does not cover all of the usability aspects of working with Microsoft Project Server 2007 or Project Professional 2007. Instead, it is targeted more for Project Managers who have basic knowledge of Microsoft Project Server 2007 or Project Professional 2007 and want to learn best practices for use of this product.
